Proof of Ownership

Some common documents that could be presented as proof of ownership are payment invoices from Town Council (for HDB) and MCST (for PTE) or Property Tax bill from IRAS. Telco and Utilities bills cannot be accepted as proof as one need not be the owner apply such services.

One of the best (and FREE) method to obtain the property ownership is for the owner to access MyHDBPage (for HDB owners) or SLA MyProperty (for PTE owners) using their SingPass.

For most RES, the preferred and trusted form of ownership proof is still from SLA INLIS.

This is a paid search (Property Ownership Information) that will cost S$5.25.

Another cheaper alternative to perform an ownership search would be to use the IRAS myTax portal to check the Annual Value of the Property which will show the name(s) of the owner(s) too.

The cost is $2.50 per search but instead of a full report that will show property details such as the size, tenure, manner of holdings etc, it will just be a one-page statement indicating the name and Annual Value of the property which is good enough for most people especially if it’s a rental transaction.
