Registration Criteria for Salesperson
Under the regulatory framework administered by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA), one of the registration criteria for property agents is that they must pass the CEA’s Real Estate Salesperson (RES) Examination or have equivalent qualification. This is to ensure that property agents intending to do estate agency work are well-qualified, professionally competent and possess a basic level of knowledge in real estate industry and property related matters.
To find out more about the registration criteria, you could refer to CEA website.
Do note that only courses provided by CEA Approved Course Providers will be recognised for licensing/registration purposes. For the list of CEA Approved RES Course Providers, click here.
The course fee (excluding exam fees) differs among the Course Providers but typically in the range of $700 to $800. Applicants can also utilise their SkillsFuture Credit (Singaporeans only) of up to $500 and also apply for UTAP Funding of up to $250.
The exam takes place 3 times a year in the month of Feb, Jun and Oct. Exam fees are $417.30 (incl. GST) for 2 papers and $235.40 (incl. GST) for each individual paper.
